Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones injures foot, could miss the rest of the season

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones injured his foot during last night’s 30-28 loss to the Jets and will seek a second opinion on the severity of the injury.

Pay per head services are aware of what head coach Mike Smith thinks. “Julio injured his foot last night,” said Smith. “He will have second opinion (Wednesday) in Charlotte. First reports not encouraging.”

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, citing an unidentified team official, he could miss the rest of the season.

Mike Smith said today that it’s premature to assume that the star wide receiver is out for the year.

Jones has 41 catches for 580 yards and two touchdowns this season and losing him would be a significant blow for a 1-4 Falcons team already hit hard by injuries.

The Falcons have not had running back Steven Jackson since he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 and wide receiver Roddy White was knocked out of last night’s game with a hamstring injury.
