Forget about Tanking For Wiggins, the 76ers are off to 3-0 start

Michael Carter-Williams, the 11th pick in the NBA draft, took down three former No. 1 picks this week: LeBron James and the Heat, John Wall and the Wizards and Derrick Rose and the Bulls, while averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game.

Pay per head services will have a hard time picking Carter-Williams’ performance of the week, he had a near quadruple-double in his first game in the league with 22 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, nine steals against the Heat and he put up 26 points and 10 assists against the Bulls last night.

That’s a pair of 20-point, 10-assist games for the rookie from Syracuse in his first week in the NBA. The 76ers are now 3-0 and remember that many people thought this team wouldn’t win 10 games. Tanking For Wiggins?

It will be interesting to see how long they can keep playing like this. Michael Carter-Williams has played like a future a MVP and he has enough talent to continue earning consideration for a unanimous Rookie of the Year Award. As for the rest of the roster, it’s comprised of a ton of young players who are fighting for their NBA lives and sometimes that’s just what a team needs to stay motivated.
